Bali..bali…bali….bali again… .emmhh…yup!! I remember went to this bazaar in Kuta beach, looking for t-shirts and I came across this local Balinese lady screaming and yelling to the street requesting public to assist her in buying whatever merchandise on her hand (Hard selling). I look around her, people just passes by without wanting to know what she’s trying to offer. I’m sitting at the corner drinking coconut juice (I think) while observing her, I saw this 3 children age between 4 – 7 yrs, I male & 2 female (maybe her children) approaching her and maybe wanna eat or to buy some things. That lady looks around and I think she’s mumbling to herself (maybe piss-off due to no sales and no money). I saw bunch of key chain on her hand…emmh so what da hell, why not buy something from her. So I approach her and start bargain on the key chain. So I pay and give her some extra money and say it for the kids. My God!!!...She crying, screaming and kissing my hand…wattahack…well..public start staring at us…..Ohh shit!!!….cabut!!! hehehehe.
Start thinking…what dafuck I’m doing….its their way of life anyway…the culture & the people has been there for centuries…its not me to feel sorry (Maybe I saw the kids my heart start pumping). Again I learned my lesson…not good and not bad - its just life anyway.
Another event, I went to this temple, I saw this beautiful stone carving and sculpture of 2 dragon stand side by side guarding the Pura (Temple). People start coming to that place to perform their ritual and praying, so I’m taking that opportunity by sitting behind the worshippers (Outsider not allowed to enter that holly place)…. Well just wanna see how they perform…good tho and very polite. At least I know the words..”AUM” “SWASTIASHU” “OOM” …. Sound of worshipper..from Brahma religion, symbol of Trimurthy in words…..the same words preach and practice for thousand-thousand of years…with right hand showing an OK symbol with the left hand holding Bali,…. Fuhh!! very interesting …. .. hehehehe!.
Remarks:
Looking at the people around me…huh! They are proud of their culture and being what they are, politeness, humble and very helpful are the essence of these Balinese. How we want to respect people if we ourselves didn’t respect what we are and who we are, basic family values - respect each other, be humble and sincere in any relationship.
