MEMORY LANE – Part 1

Ipoh - my home town is quite a dale place but lovely. Previous colonial authority/ administration has developed Ipoh & Taiping as their main administration centre throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The major revenue during that time is Tin Mine (Kinta Valley) and Rubber Estate. In fact the earliest rubber trees is planted somewhere in Kuala Kangsar and the ceremony is done by Sir HN Ridley (The 1st Rubber Scientist).

Several beautiful places - Old town hall, High Court, Ipoh old town, Ipoh Club, the FMS Bar...just name it - colonial spot & buildings almost everywhere. Beside the old Anderson Building, St Michael is so damn beautiful too.

St. Micheal / Michaelean!
I remember at the centre of that front building, of Old St Micheal’s – Bronze Sculpture of “Madonna & Child” or maybe “The Mother, Child & Holy Ghost” (Just cannot remember the name) so damn unique and beautiful, I remember myself during the school assemblies at the field facing the parlor, we did hanging around at that parlor (Where the sculpture stand) during lunch break.

Several more great architecture work left by the colonial at that building & school chapel.

Deep in my heart I wish that town maintain without any development, I consider it as world heritage and hoping the government preserve this building as the way it is.

I’ll bring my child when we balik kampong & remind them to visit all the beautiful places, this is the place where their father and forefathers were born and brought up. I’ll tell them how harmony of the people living together irrespective of race and background. I’ve several friends i.e. Sikh, Chinese, Indian, Malays, Natives, Portuguese, European and several more unidentified races living in harmony at that same Old St Michael School with spirit of unity. With attention to be above all or no. 1 in all event/sports they participated. The school has selected several teams irrespective of races/religion/belief to fight for the school, united against all odds and making sure their school always be No. 1 in State of Perak. (Emmh but always be no.3-4 or maybe 7 kut...hehehe)

Games/Sport such as Athletic, hockey, rugby, soccer, cricket, basket ball, fencing, theatre, music and other event that may give opportunity to bring the school name up to national level. The spirit of unity is almost solid and unbreakable, we live in harmony.

I remember Sukan Sekolah (Sport Event) when I saw my brother G (elder than me) whom is a school sprinter of 100m, 200m 4x100, take part in that sport event. I’m damn proud of him during that event, telling everybody & all my friends - “Hey Guys! My Brother, He is the Sprinter & the world fastest” giving him supports like a fool, never end madness & nobody business. Well he lose heheheh!. But I just don’t care & continue saying "the referee is full of shit!" Heheheh.

I’m an active guy too, manage to join the hockey team & rugby, but just for a while, before I jump into casino & marijuana activities..…hehehe. Well….End of the Story lah!

When there is no politics…..there is peace….hehehehe!
