ARTS IN MALAYSIA

Malaysian public awareness on fine arts and appreciation is very poor compare to other countries in this region. The difference of culture, way of life and system has contributed to deterioration of this subject.

Not a favorite subject in school anyway, the education syllabus focuses more on technology and science "I think". Don't know whether its work since the result still unknown. Art has not been prioritise and slowly it move away and dying. Children or teenager not even aware of the big name i.e Picasso, Da Vinci, Michael Angelo, Guagguin, Van Gogh, Dali and so much more. Once go to Europe or the U.S even to Australia, most of them I mean the children, teenagers knows all these people and their contribution towards Arts and development. History is recorded and still the contribution alive till to date. I.e. Michael Angelo - His book on Human Anatomy is still very much relevant to the Medical Practitioner or Medic Student. Da Vinci, his contribution towards science & engineering being catalyst for other science/ engineering discoveries and off-course lots more. Not to mention on this page la.

Well again we don’t know who to blame, maybe the PTA, or Govt policy and or maybe education system need to be revised. As of current as everybody aware, our proud Malaysian Universities has dropped to...I don't know..what no..maybe to 300-400 behind the Top 100 most quality universities in this world. I do believe something wrong with the current system from Top 100 to...fuhhhh...very-very far. Please don’t change the system for the sake of politics. This is what happen in Malaysia and I do believe if we evaluate the current system used by Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and other Universities it has been there for maybe more than 50-100 years yet it still relevant. The education & politics has been viewed separately.

Well back to Arts, what arts without colors, what arts without shapes, what arts without form in space, what arts without strong message and contribution. Especially when the masterpiece becoming an icon or example due to its contribution to the community, nation and world we live in. It’s totally an evolution of life, mind, body and soul. I name it gift from GOD.
